Senior Delhi BJP leader Vijender Gupta said a formal communication has been sent to Dikshit, requesting her to attend the "historic" rally on Sunday.
"We have invited the Chief Minister to the rally. The idea to invite her was to make her understand about peoples' anger against her administration," Gupta, who is convenor of the rally, told PTI.
Claiming that over five lakh people will be attending the rally, he said it will have a huge impact on the people of the city which will help BJP return to power after 15 years.
He said foreign diplomats from around 100 embassies have been invited to attend the rally at the Japanese Park in Rohini.
"A large number of foreign missions have shown interests in Modi's rally and that is why we have invited them," said Gupta, adding around 10,000 leading personalities from diverse sectors have also been invited to the rally.
"We are inviting corporate leaders, intellectuals, artistes, authors and representatives from various industry chambers," he said.
Apart from the foreign diplomats, several former bureaucrats are also expected to attend the rally, where Modi will spell out BJP's agenda for development of both Delhi and the country, said Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel.
He said large LED screens will be put up across the city so that Modi's speech could be shown live.
Goel today unveiled an LED screen at the Gole Market.
"We are making special arrangement in the view of the growing enthusiasm among the populace for the rally," he said.
