BJP MLA accused of demanding liquor from excise officials
Press Trust of India Mumbai An Excise Department official has accused a BJP MLA from Dahanu near here of demanding liquor bottles for voters.
Excise Inspector Jaywant Patil, in a letter to the Excise Superintendent on November 29, alleged that the MLA Paskal Dhanare had threatened the officials and sought 100 liquor bottles for voters.
The MLA allegedly said that he was aware of the shady dealings of the officials and would expose them if they did not do his bidding.
Dhanare was away in Nagpur (where winter session of the Maharashtra legislature is underway) and was not available for reaction.
However, his personal assistant told PTI that the MLA had refuted the allegations, terming them baseless.
