Raising the issue through a point of propriety in the Assembly, Shelar, who represents Bandra West constituency in suburban Mumbai, said the murder of Darius Kapadia, a prominent citizen, was a cause of concern.
The 78-year-old Kapadia, who had worked as Secretary to the Chief Justice of Bombay HC, was murdered allegedly by two persons with the motive of robbery when he was alone at his home.
Even though the culprits were arrested in nine hours after the crime, the need of the hour is to ensure security of these elderly people, he said, adding that steps need to be taken for ensuring security of Parsis.
