Talking to reporters here, The Rajya Sabha memeber said rural people of India, especially farmers needed some entertainment and they were organising this sport from time immemorial.
Tarun, who was here as part of his "Tirukural Tirupayana" (Yatra), which he had undertaken to propagate the famous Tamil couplets, Said he had also taken up the issue of making the Tamil as the official language of the High Court sith the President.
It was essential taht the people should address the High Court in the native language and it was unfortunate that such a sitution did not exist.
He said Tirukural was already being taught in Punjab and Karnataka and he would take steps to propagate it other states.
