Citing fresh cases of vector- borne diseases in the national capital, the AAP today accused the BJP of indulging in corruption at the cost of people's health and charged it with using MCD funds for fighting civic polls.
According to AAP, financial irregularities and inefficient administration is hallmark of the all three civic bodies -- North, East and South municipal corporations -- which are under the BJP rule since last 10 years.
Party's Delhi unit convenor Dilip Pandey claimed that the MCDs do not have any strategy to tackle vector-borne diseases as malaria, chikungunya and dengue have started to raise their heads at the start of the year.
At least 79 cases of chikungunya and 24 cases of dengue have also been reported in the last three months, according to a municipal report released yesterday.
"This is a result of BJP's clear inefficient administration in the MCDs and they are now famously known as Malaria Dengue and Chikungunya (MCD).
"The AAP believes that the BJP has made crores of rupees through the MCDs by putting at risk the lives of people of Delhi. This money will now be used to contest MCD polls," Pandey alleged.
He added that even the CAG has pointed out in its report that the MCDs used medicines which were ineffective in dealing with vector-borne diseases, put unskilled people to do this job, risking the lives of people of Delhi.
