It was 'dhols' and crackers all the way at the BJP office in front of the imposing UP Assembly building as workers danced carrying banners announcing 'achchey din aa gaye (good days have come)' and election symbol 'Lotus' and fed 'laddoos' to each other.
The party had set up large LCD TV sets in the office campus for its leaders and cadres to witness the results live.
On the other hand, party offices of political rivals including Samajwadi Party, BSP and Congress, wore a deserted look barring a flow of mediapersons and OB vans.
If there were a handful of security personnel sitting in and around the closed gates of Samajwadi Party office, there were merely a couple of regulars at the kiosks of the UPCC office whereas BSP office, and the residence of its president Mayawati nearby, had a forlorn look to it, depicting the gloom which appear to have descended there as results flowed in.
