"The Voice" mentor's attorneys have sent a letter to the magazine, demanding they retract the story about Shelton having the affair, reported TMZ.
In the letter, 39-year-old Shelton's attorneys describe the 26-year-old "This Little Girl" singer as someone "infatuated" with Shelton.
The letter accuses the magazine of using her as its source.
"Mr Shelton did not have a sexual relationship or affair of any nature whatsoever with Ms Groves," read the statement.
