A top district official said the three, one of them a resident of Jharkhand, were on board the countryboat which toppled over midstream during a storm last evening.
While their bodies were fished out today, there were 23 others on the vessel who swam ashore to safety last night itself.
The boatman was among the other two deceased.
The three deceased were identified as Chandrapal Barma (42), a brick kiln worker hailing from Jharkhand, day labourer Pradip Ghosh and Bhajahari Ghosh (boatman).
