The policeman, identified as TP Anirudhan, who was posted in the Third Batallion, was found with a bullet wound in his right temple this morning, they added.
His service pistol, a motorcycle and a helmet were found near his body, police said.
They said that his belongings were found intact, indicating that he was not attacked, they said.
It is suspected that he shot himself yesterday. He had come to office of the Delhi Police Security Wing in Chanakyapuri yesterday, police said.
He was posted in the security wing sometime back and had come there. He did not report for duty yesterday, they said.
No suicide note was found and his family also seemed unaware whether he was depressed, they added.
He is survived by his wife and a child.
