Body of man recovered from well in Burdwan

The body of a 47 year old man was recovered from an abandoned well in Burdwan district today, police said.
Superintendent of Police, S M H Mirza said Nabakumar Dey, a resident of the area, jumped into the abandoned well near his house to retrieve his mobile phone which fell in and was asphyxiated by the obnoxious fumes,
Two fire engines from Durgapur and Mankar rushed to the area but could not rescue Dey, the SP said.
Dey's body was recovered by jawans from the military base of Panagarh and sent for post mortem, the SP said.
