Book on Prez's role as visitor of education instt. Launched

A book aimed at examining the role and functions of the President of India as the 'Visitor' to 114 higher education institutions in the country was recently launched here.
The book, 'The President Of India And The Governance of Higher Education Institutions', also highlights imperative need for raising academic standards while promoting the international benchmarks in quality, excellence and institutional governance.
"The book seeks to bring issues relating to institutional governance within the larger framework of transparency and accountability of higher education institutions," Vice Chancellor of O P Jindal Global University, Professor C Raj Kumar, said at the occassion.
The book has been written by the faculty members of university's International Institute for Higher Education and Capacity Building.

Among the attendees at the event were former Governor of Karnataka and Union Minister for Law and Justice H R Bhardwaj, former Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Delhi High Court judge Justice Gita Mittal.
