"The state government vide a notification issued today has appointed Harendra Nath Bora, IAS (Retd) as State Election Commissioner of Assam State Election Commission with effect from the date of taking over charge," an official release said.
The period of service of Bora will be for five years or when he attains 65 years of age, whichever is earlier, it added.
