Rejecting the report by Haryana Backward Classes Commission which has recommended "special backward caste" status to five castes in the state, activists of Brahmin Samaj alleged that the community was being neglected by the state government.
The protestors burnt an effigy of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and also shouted slogans against the government.
The state Cabinet in principle has accepted the report of the Haryana Backward Classes Commission, which recommends the inclusion of five castes in special Backward Classes giving them 10 per cent reservation.
