Party's General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy also suggested that the government allow people to deposit and withdraw "any amount of money" after asking them to declare that the money belongs to them.
"We urge you to take immediate steps to bring black money stashed abroad, recover all non-performing assets, which is about Rs 15 lakh crore, from defaulters. Also, arrest Vijay Mallya, Lalit Modi and the like and confiscate their properties," Reddy said in a letter to the Prime Minister.
"Stop harassing ordinary people and arrest the real culprits who are enjoying political patronage," Reddy said.
He stressed on setting up more bank branches in rural areas, saying that online banking and transfers are yet to catch up there and the change cannot be brought about overnight.
"Also, allow cooperative banks to conduct business, including exchange of currency, as usual," he said.
