While presenting Delhi budget Sisodia said, "The Estimates of total Receipts in 2015-16 is Rs 41,500 crore which is Rs 3,731 crore more than the Receipts of Rs 37,769 crore approved in the Vote on Account. With the proposed Estimates of Receipts and Expenditure there will be a surplus of Rs 371 crore."
As per budget proposal, total expenditure of Rs 41,129 crore will be financed mainly from tax revenue of Rs 34,661 crore, Rs 1,127 crore from non-tax revenue, Rs 381 crore from capital receipts, Rs 1,038 crore from small saving loan, Rs 807 crore as compensation of CST/VAT.
However, Sisodia highlighted that share in central taxes and duties of Delhi government, which is given by central government is at Rs 325 crore for this financial year and has remained stagnant since the last 14 years.
Finance Minister mentioned that they prepared the budget after the consultation with the public which highlighted other requirements, schemes and programs needed by the citizen.
The total Budget Estimate for the year 2015-16 is proposed at Rs 41,129 crore against Rs 37,750 crore approved in the Vote on Account.
It includes Rs 19,000 crore Plan Expenditure and Rs 22,129 crore Non-Plan Expenditure as against Rs 16,250 crore Plan and Rs 21,500 crore Non-Plan expenditure approved in the Vote on Account.
The proposed Plan Budget of Rs 19,000 crore is 16 per cent higher than the revised estimates of Rs 16,350 crore in 2014-15. The total budget of Rs 41,129 crore in 2015-16 is 18 per cent higher than the revised estimates of Rs 34,790 crore in 2014-15.
