Burdwan blast: SRK hopes things would settle down in Bengal

With West Bengal reeling under Burdwan blasts, its brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan has voiced hope that things would settle down fast in the state which the superstar described as his "home".
"Being the brand ambassador of Bengal, I can pray for better times, for good times. Things will all settle down soon, things will be all right," Khan told reporters here last night when asked about the alleged extremist activities in the state.
"I know situations go wrong, situations sometimes are uncontrollable and there are going to be issues all the time, but it's not the time to get into that discussion," he said while in Kolkata to promote his blockbuster 'Happy New Year'.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing into the October 2 blast in Khagragarh has said that those arrested in connection with the blast and their associates were members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh and were making IEDs to be transported to the neighbouring country for possible terror attacks.
Khan who is also the co-owner of the IPL franchisee KKR described Kolkata as his own city.
"This is my hometown. I have been all over the world to promote this film. But I told them that one place where you have to come is Kolkata which is my own city," SRK said.

Last evening, he also went to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with 'Happy New Year' co-actors Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and director Farah Khan.
"She has told me that she has liked my film although I don't think she had the time to watch the whole film. She is the 'didi' (elder sister), I do not see her only as a chief minister," Khan said.
