A 30-year-old UK-based businessman was arrested at IGI Airport here for allegedly creating ruckus in a flight and also misbehaving with a female staff member, police said today.
The accused, Sarabjeet Singh Cheema, was allegedly drunk and tried to unlock the aircraft's door but when the crew tried to stop him, he allegedly created a ruckus, a police official said.
Cheema later turned out to be UK citizen. He was on his way to meet his relatives at Chandigarh and was supposed to change flight from the IGI Airport here, the official said.
As soon as the international flight from London landed here around 9.30 AM yesterday, the crew members handed him to the security personnel in the airport who further handed him to the police, the official said.
He was booked under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC, the official added.
