APSRTC fare hiked

Transport Corporation (APSRTC) today hiked its passenger fares effective this midnight.
Samba Siva Rao, Managing Director, APSRTC, told reporters at a hastily convened press meet tonight that the fare hike for Pallevelugu services which cater to the rural areas is five per cent, and that for other services like Express, Garudan and Indra is 10 per cent.
The state government allowed the hike so that APSRTC could meet its financial burden after enhancement of wages by 43 per cent.
