Cabinet clears repromulgation of land ordinance

The bill, pending before the Rajya Sabha, has no chance of being cleared before April 5

The Union Cabinet tonight decided to recommend re-promulgation of the land acquistion ordinance incorporating nine amendments that were part of the bill that was passed in Lok Sabha earlier this month.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the bill passed by the Lower House and is pending before the Rajya Sabha has no chance of being cleared before April 5.
