Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has urged the central government to relax standard quality norms for wheat procurement in the current rabi season.

The chief minister also said a five-factor slab system be formulated to assess the loss to crop, so that every farmer could get benefit of compensation announced by the government. He said compensation should be calculated in the slabs of 0-10 per cent, 11 to 25 per cent, 26 to 50 per cent, 51 to 75 per cent and 76 to 100 per cent. Currently, the Centre does not give compensation for crop loss up to 50 per cent.
