A case has been registered under section 376 (Rape), 452 (House tress pass), 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the IPC against the employee of Ambala Municipal Corporation on the complaint of woman, SHO Ram Niwas said.
The victim had filed a complaint with Deputy Commissioner, Ambala a few days back against the accused, he said.
In the complaint the victim said that she had gone to Municipal Council office for enrolling for a BPL card, where she met the accused who in-turn assured her of doing the needful, police said.
She alleged that on December 5 the official came to her residence and raped her and he also threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter.
The victim had undergone a medical examination at a civil hospital here, police said.
