Supporters of Khatri, who filed his nomination seeking re-election from Faizabad constituency, allegedly distributed cash during his road show held in Faizabad, official sources said.
Faizabad district magistrate Indraveer Singh said, "Distribution of currency notes in the Congress candidate's road show is in the knowledge of the administration, we are investigating the matter and will take necessary action."
Khatri road show started from Gulab-Bari, the mausoleum of Nawab Shujauddaulah built in the 16th century, and ended at the district magistrate's office covering the distance of about five kilometres.
