CEC team inspects Bellary mining areas

The Central Empowered Committee (CEC) has inspected the mining border area and forest and revenue lands to verify if there has been any encroachment by two mining firms in Hospet in Bellary district.
The CEC team, comprising U V Singh and Deepak Sharma, also carried out a similar exercise with regard to two other firms in Bellary today, official sources said.
The CEC was appointed by the Supreme Court in the wake of illegal mining in Karnataka.
