As part of its effort to check dengue, the Directorate of Health Services has started alerting citizens about the precautionary measures to be adopted by the people through SMSs.
The SMSs being circulated among the public advises one to clean their coolers once in a week or add a table-spoon of petrol in the water cooler to keep it free from mosquito breeding or sprinkle temephos granules.
The message further advises not to let water get stored in unused or broken bottles, tyres, bottles, water trays of flower pots and containers and instructs one to cover the water tanks properly.
