Chana prices declined 0.57 per cent to Rs 4,341 per quintal in futures trade today as traders reduced their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on low demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in April moved down by Rs 25, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 4,341 per quintal with an open interest of 22,520 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in January declined by Rs 23, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 4,863 per quintal in 4,780 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in chana futures to increased arrivals from producing regions in the physical market against muted demand from dal mills.
