As many as 25 child labourers, including two girls, allegedly working for an NGO here, were rescued today, officials said.
"Acting on a tip-off, Childline convener, Avinash Parmar along with officials from Women and Child Development department raided the office of the NGO Sapna Jan Vikas Sewa Samiti at Suryadev Nagar and rescued the child labourers," department's Child Protection Officer Bhagwandas Sahu told PTI.
The NGO had allegedly kept these children captive and engaged them in making bangles and allegedly raised funds for the organisation in the name of the children, he said.
All the children were in the age group of 13 to 15 years.
The rescued children were produced before the District Child Welfare Committee, Sahu said, adding further probe was on.
