China keen to invest in Mihan: MADC

China has expressed its interest towards future investments as well in the multi-modal international cargo hub and airport at Nagpur (Mihan) project.
A business delegation from China headed by Consul General Zhang Xiyuan today visited the project and had a meeting with the officials of the Maharashtra Area Development Company (MADC), the nodal agency for the project.
The delegation was all praise for MADC team for the works completed and expressed positive thoughts about the future investments from China, an MADC release said.
The Chinese team was given a power point presentation on the project by the additional chief secretary, Government of India, Mihan vice chairman and managing director Tanaji Satre, general manager (marketing) S Sittarasu.
A movie promoting Mihan was also shown.
The team took all the required information regarding the development in Mihan besides on logistics, transportation and employment, the release said.
Chief Engineer S K Chahande, superintending engineer S K Chatterjee, and other top officials attended the meeting.
Later, the delegation saw the ongoing construction activities and development works through bus, it said.
An airport project for Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur, Mihan is the biggest economical development project currently underway in the country in terms of investments.
The project aims to exploit the central location of Nagpur and convert the present airport into a major cargo hub with integrated road and rail connectivity.
