"That may be his personal opinion. He may be saying this as personal opinion," Scindia told Karan Thapar on "Nothing But The Truth" programme on Headlines Today.
To a question on whether this did not expose Singh's lack of confidence in Rahul's leadership, Scindia said,"I do not agree with it. He has all the leadership qualities. He has many ideas to implement...Let us wait for him to come out with his blueprint."
"Rahul Gandhi has led from the front on many occassions including...He is still very much spearheading many of the movements like the one on Jantar Mantar on land bill," Scindia said reminding that he had gone on leave after seeking permission from Congress President.
To questions whether Sonia Gandhi leading from the front in Rahul's absence has exposed the limitations of the Congress President, Scindia said,"President has her role. Vice President has his role. Both play their role. He has his leadersip qualities. She has her."
Scindia also refused to go into speculation about an impending AICC session and possible elevation of Rahul as Congress President.
"There are so many rumours when the AICC sessions is going to be held. I do not believe until dates are announced. There is a huge amount of rumour mongering," he said.
On senior leader H R Bhardwaj criticism that Sonia Gandhi needed to share lot of blame for the downturn of the party, Scindia said, "he cannot be more wrong" insisting that both Sonia and Rahul have always taken responsibility.
On the land bill, he took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi wondering whether he wanted to give "sermons" or listen to Man Ki Baat of farmers on the radio programme.
"We are going to oppose tooth and nail whatever may be their wily strategy," he said when asked whether Congress would still oppose the land bill if the government went in for a joint session.
