Colman has been tapped to play the Queen in seasons three and four of the series and Foy, who has played the role for the drama's first two seasons, calls the choice "amazing", reported Variety.
"I've known about it for ages, so I've secretly been jumping up and down for about three months. Going into the second series, there was a rumour that they were thinking of her, and I was like 'yes, yes, yes!' I just think she's extraordinary.
"She's an extraordinary human being as well. I just think that she will make it her own. And I just can't wait to see what she does with it," Foy says.
