Congress would decide about the alliance at the time of polls. "All parties in the state are now firm that they should be part of the next government to come up in Tamil Nadu," he told reporters here.
He claimed leaders of others parties were meeting him to talk about alliance and he did not go and meet any one.
He said DMK functionaries had met him. MDMK chief Vaiko and Thol Thirumavalanan of VCK and CPI leder R Nallakannu had issued statements in support of him. Even DMDK founder leader Vijayakanth spoke to him over the phone, Elangovan said.
He said people of the state wanted total prohibition,and their desire could not be suppressed for long.
Congress would launch "a big" agitation against TASMAC liquor shops, he added.
