Coast Guard DG meets Jaya; discusses future plans in TN
Press Trust of India Chennai A top official of the Indian Coast Guard today called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and discussed the force's future plans in the state with her.
Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Vice Admiral Anurag G Thapliyal met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat and briefed her on the force's future plans, a state government release said.
He was accompanied by Inspector General S P Sharma, Regional Commander (East) of ICG, it said.
Vice Admiral Thapliyal, who assumed charge in February this year, is on his maiden visit to the city after taking over as the DG.
He will among others evaluate the operational readiness of local units during his three-day visit.
