The worker had purchased the liquor bottle from an outlet in Kovaipudur last night, police said.
Though the workers in the shop requested him to return the bottle and offered additional bottle, the worker refused to accept the offer.
He took the bottle to the taluk office and sought an inquiry into the incident, police said.
