Colgate-Palmolive Q2 Net up over 15% to Rs 181 crore

FMCG major Colgate-Palmolive India today posted a 15.59 per cent increase in its standalone net profit at Rs 181.31 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2016.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 156.85 crore during the July-September quarter of the previous fiscal.
Its total income from operation was up 9.86 per cent to Rs 1,203.18 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 1,095.19 crore a year ago, Colgate-Palmolive India said in a BSE filing.
Colgate-Palmolive's total expenses were up 10.81 per cent to Rs 961.72 crore as against Rs 867.85 crore in the three-month period last fiscal.
"Colgate continues to focus on innovation and consumer insights while leveraging its strong heritage in the oral care category. Despite of slowing market conditions, Colgate maintains its leadership position and continues to offer customises products for each market segment," said CPIL Managing Director Issam Bachaalani.
In the first half of FY 2016-17, standalone net profit was up 12.55 per cent to Rs 307.03 crore as against Rs 272.79 crore a year earlier.
Total income from operation in the first half of the current fiscal was up 11.10 per cent at Rs 2,352.27 crore as against Rs 2,117.15 crore in the same period last year.
Shares of Colgate-Palmolive India today settled at Rs 972.95 on BSE, up 3.64 per cent from previous close.
