College student dies while playing cricket
A college student was killed after he received a head injury while playing cricket in Nadia district, police said today.
The incident happened under the jurisdiction of Kalyani police station yesterday, the police said.
The 21-year-old man, student of a local college, got hit by a cricket bat, while keeping wickets for his side, after the batsman missed a delivery, a police officer said.
The injured student was taken to Kalyani JNM Hospital where he was declared brought dead, the officer said.
