It started functioning from yesterday.
"The Court, established under the provisions of Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Commercial Appellate Division of High Courts Act, 2015, will exclusively adjudicate commercial matters of Rs 1 crore or above," said Rajendra Trivedi, an advocate and Chairman of Executive Committee of the Bar Council of Gujarat.
This Court is equivalent to a District Court, it said.
Shailesh Amin, another advocate, said, the Act is likely to reduce the burden of litigation on courts.
