Dismissing possibilities of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) allying with BJP in the Lok Sabha polls, party General Secretary Jayant Chaudhary today said his party will not accept communal leadership under any situation.
"The kind of leadership that is emerging in BJP and the way it is trying to polarise the voters, we are against it. This party is in communal politics and there is no question of going with them under any situation," Chaudhary, who is a RLD MP and son of party chief Ajit Singh, said.
Chaudhary was talking about the prospects of BJP-RLD alliance in Uttar Pradesh in an interview with PTI Bhasha.
Without naming Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the RLD leader said the politics of temples and mosques diverts the attention from issues faced by farmers and labourers.
"We are part of the Congress-led UPA and we are going to contest the elections with Congress only," he said.
Reiterating his party's demand for a separate Harit Pradesh, he said the area of western Uttar Pradesh was better off than Telangana and the party will continue to fight for the division of Uttar Pradesh to get the new state.
On the issue of reservation for jats in central and state government jobs and educational institutions, he said the Backward Class Commission has to restart the process on the issue as there are some vacancies in it.
Chaudhary said his party had met the Prime Minister on the issue and he agrees on it.
On the "negative image" of the UPA government among people, Chaudhary said his party was part of the ruling coalition but it neither supports every move of the Government nor opposes its all deeds.
