In an effort to check illegal plying of transport vehicles, the Punjab government today decided to set up inter-state computerised check posts at the entry points of borders of neighbouring states.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman of the Transport department said that the main purpose to set up these computerised check posts is to curb the illegal operation of transport vehicles entering into the state.
He further said the check posts will also ensure transparency and keep a check on pilferage in tax collection.
