Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today lambasted the Congress describing its members behaviour in the recently concluded Punjab assembly session as "murder of democratic values".
The use of "unparliamentary" language by Congress members in the Vidhan Sabha and tactics used by them for disrupting the assembly, has hurt the minds of those who firmly believe in democracy, he claimed while attending the bhog of Sardarni Jagdish Kaur Brar, grandmother of Parminder Singh Brar, who is the Deputy CM's OSD.
"In the Vidhan Sabha even water cannot enter without the Speaker's permission, but Congress members took food as well as other things violating the assembly's decorum," he alleged.
On hurting of sentiments of Sikhs by Aam Aadmi Party leaders, Majithia said the leaders of AAP were "non-Punjabis" as well as "power hungry".
The minister said these leaders do not have any business with the "Sikh religion" or "Sikh values".
On AAP MP Bhagwant Mann not participating in recent party activities, Majithia said AAP has nothing to do with Punjab or Punjabi leaders.
"This party only believes in use and throw policy when it comes to Punjabi leaders," he alleged, adding former convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur worked hard to strengthen the party in the state, but even he was shown the door.
