Amid speculation that the party could consider supporting Aam Aadmi Party to form a government in Delhi, Congress today ruled out any such move.
"We are not not considering to support any party in Delhi... There is no question of supporting Aam Aadmi Party," AICC general secretary in-charge for Delhi Shakeel Ahmed said.
Commenting on the results in Delhi, he said it was time for introspection for the party, especially in Delhi.
"We were not expecting these results. The reasons for this will be analysed," he said.
Ahmed felt that that the agitations on various issues in Delhi helped the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP.
Congress has been in power in Delhi for 15 years now with Sheila Dikshit having the distinction of the longest-serving woman Chief Minister in independent India.
In the last Assembly polls, the Congress had won as many as 43 seats in the 70-member legislative Assembly and its fortunes have dwindled sharply this time with the party managing to secure only eight seats.
Dikshit, who had led Congress to three successive victories in Delhi, had to suffer defeat at the hands of the debutant Arvind Kejriwal at New Delhi assembly constituency.
