Congress worker shot at in Gurdaspur, critical

A sarpanch (village head) allegedly shot at and seriously injured a Congress worker at Agwan village here, police said today.
The head of Agwan village, Kulwinder Singh, his son Nirmal Singh and their supporters allegedly attacked Kanwaljit Singh (25) and shot at him, they said, adding it seems to be a case of post-election rivalry,
He was rushed to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar where his condition was stated as critical, police said.
A case has been lodged against Kulwinder, Nirmal and four others at the Dera Baba Nanak Police Station, they said.
