Duryodhan Behera, the constable was arrested yesterday on charge of having promised to marry Abhagini Nayak (28), Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Berhampur), R P Patra said.
The body of Abhagini, who hailed from Binjhagiri, was found hanging by the police on November 26 from her house in Berhampore where she worked in police reserve, the SDPO said.
Police seized a diary from her house after her death where the woman had given a detailed account about her affairs with him (Behera) and alleged how he had cheated her.
