Police officials said the incident happened at Saidabad village under Raghopur police station in the district and the deceased has been identified as Shivsagar Rai. He used to supply sand and stone-chips for construction activities.
A group of people called Shivsagar from his house and rained bullets on him. His friend Devendra Rai was also wounded in the incident and has been hospitalised.
The inspector said an FIR has been lodged and nine people including one Shankar Rai have been accused in it on the basis of the statement of Devendra. The police has launched an manhunt to nab them.
