Couple held for bid to smuggle 1.6 kg gold

Customs officials today arrested a couple from international airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle in 1.6 Kg gold valued at Rs 45 lakh.
The gold was recovered from Mustafa and his wife, who arrived at the airport at Shamsabad this morning from Kuwait via Muscat, they said, adding the duo were arrested subsequently.
Further investigation is underway, the custom officials added.
