"The bodies of the girls were recovered from a well in a village under Mandar block (about 30 km from here) and sent for post mortem. Their cousin, Vijay, has been arrested after an FIR filed by the family charging him with the incident," Superintendent of Police (Rural) Surendra Kumar Jha told PTI.
One girl was 12 years old while the other was 8, the SP said, adding the accused is their cousin.
Quoting the FIR, Jha said Vijay allegedly asked the two sisters to accompany him somewhere yesterday and when the family members began worrying as the duo did not return home till night, some villagers grilled Vijay and learnt from him that the two were 'near' a well.
