With an eye on the upcoming municipal polls and next year's Assembly elections in West Bengal, the CPI(M) today in its 24th state conference called for the removal of 'corrupt' TMC regime in the state.
The party at the end of its five-day conference gave a call for "Oust Trinamool Congress, Save Bengal, Remove BJP and Save Country".
"The leadership has asked us to reach out to the masses and highlight achievements of the 34 years of Left rule and also accept and apologise for the mistakes that a section of party cadres have committed during the 34 years of Left rule," a state committee member said.
The CPI(M), which inducted fresh faces across the organisational hierarchy, hoped for making a political turnaround after a hiatus of four years.
The party in the conference also asked its cadres to resist with full strength the "undemocratic practices and terror tactics" of the TMC regime.
The state conference also voiced concern over the closing down of various industrial units in the state and advocated in favour of progress of industrialisation in order to remove the menace of unemployment from the state.
The party demanded social security for small time marginal farmers in the state and ensure MSP (minimum support price) for potato and paddy farmers.
