: The Left parties had already aligned with AIADMK in Tamil Nadu to face the coming Lok Sabha polls would not support any party with a communal colour, CPI (M) A Soundararajan said today.
"Under no circumstances, will CPI(M) have an alliance with a communal party. We would be for non Congress and non BJP.... We have decided we will support AIADMK for the Lok Sabha polls" he said during a discussion in the assembly.
His intervention came when Congress legislator Vijayadharani attacked the Left and asked if they would stick to their principles even if there was a change in the political situation.
She was replying to CPI's S Gunasekaran who had alleged that the country's economy was in poor shape because of Congress party's 'wrong' policies.
Later there was a heated exchange of words between state Ministers and DMDK, during which Electricity Minister Natham R Viswanathan said "DMDK is more of a mouse than a cat."
DMDK members thumped desks in support of Congress' legislators, to which the ministers' turned to DMDK and recalled their meeting with the Prime Minister and said it was only for alliance talks.
""By your support to her, the cat is out of the bag," Finance Minister O Panneerselvam said.
DMDK's Alagapuram Mohanraj said it was tiger which was out of the bag, to which Natham Viswanathan said DMDK was more of a mouse and not even a cat.
DMDK members' made repeated requests to speak, but were refused by Speaker P Dhanapal.
