Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Justice Sunil Ambwani today called upon judicial officers, police, lawyers and administrative officers to make every effort to provide rights to "crime victims" so that they could live respectful life.
Earlier there was no such scheme to provide compensation to victim or complainant, and they (victims) used to feel deceited, but now new Crime Victim Compensation Yojna (Scheme) has came into effect to provide them relief, he said.
The responsibility of implementing this scheme should be of Rajasthan State Legal Service Authority (RSLSA), administrative officers, police and lawyers and they should ensure it, the CJ exhorted.
They should get this relief on time so that they could live respectful life, he said while inaugurating a seminar on "Implementation of crime victim compensation Yojna and child victim" organised jointly by UNICEF and RSLSA here.
Speaking on the occasion, RSLSA's executive chairman Justice Ajay Rastogi said the compensation and rehabilitation scheme for crime victims was introduced in Rajasthan in 2012, and the compensation amount was raised in April 2015.
Justice Rastogi said in four months of this year a compensation amount of Rs one crore was distributed to affected people, and the rescued bonded child labourers were also given benefit of this scheme.
