The Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank has set a target to disburse Rs 2,450 crore short-term crop loans through its primary agriculture cooperative committees to farmers this kharif season, an official statement said.
Sums to the tune of Rs 1,088 crore have been disbursed (at the rate of zero per cent) which is Rs 274 crore more than the amount of crop loans disbursed during the same period last year, it said.
More than four lakh farmers enrolled as members of committees will be benefitted of this, it added.
About 5.11 lakh metric tonne of fertilisers have been stocked in godowns of cooperative societies, it said.
So far 1.05 lakh tonne of total stock of urea, which is 1.58 lakh tonne, has been distributed while 70,000 tonne of total stock of DAP (1.08 lakh tonne) has been disbursed.
