Dairy promoters go get loan at 3 per cent interest

: The state government will help boost rural dairy activities by providing loan at three per cent interest rate to all farmers to adopt income generating activities, Minister for Cooperation H S Mahadeva Prasad said today.
The loan will be provided through land development banks which will enhance the milk production from existing 63 lakh liters per day procured from 12,000 milk societies, Prasad said.
Inaugurating the golden jubilee and new building of primary land development bank of Bheemankone near Sagar, he said due to special incentives to milk producers, milk procurement has seen a 50 per cent increase.
The minister said with a view to provide special benefits to all farmers and milk producers the government has hiked the total loan amount from the present six crores to 7.5 crores to help 19 lakhs farmers.
