The Peoples Republican Party has organised a morcha to Vidhan Bhawan in Nagpur on December 15, during the winter session, to protest the Dalit killings at Javkheda, party president Jogendra Kawade said here today.
"It is a matter of serious concern that the killers have not been nabbed even 28 days after the gruesome murders," he said.
"We demand that CBI should probe the killings," he said.
"We demand that the government should arm dalits in sensitive areas for self protection, in backdrop of the Javkheda killings," Kawade told reporters at Vidhan Bhawan.
"Going by the horrible manner in which the bodies were cut and mutilated, one wonders if we are we seeing an Indian version of Taliban at work," Kawade said.
"Former home minister R R Patil had announced that six fast track courts would be set up for trial of dalit atrocity cases. But not a single court was set up. This government should do the needful," Kawade said.
Chief Minister M Devendra Fadnavis had recently asked the state DGP to probe the gruesome murder of three members of the Dalit family in Ahmednagar district last month, and submit a report.
Over the course of October 21 and 22, villagers of Javkheda Khalsa had retrieved dismembered body parts of a mason, Sanjay Jadhav (42), his wife Jayashree (38) and their teenage son Sunil (19), from a well, and strewn all around the land owned by Jadhav.
